This phase of treatment principles seven and eight will focus on helping clients make the transition from reliance on the structure of the treatment environment to taking initiative and personal responsibility for their recovery. This phase is designed to increase opportunities to strengthen the recovery principles and the skills clients have learned by applying them in daily experience. Through continued practice of new, recovery-oriented ways of relating to self, to others, and to the world, positive changes in thinking and behaviour gain critical traction that should be taking care of, that sometimes result to relapse. Caution on this phase because this is the most critical stage of recovery.
ARC compassionately treats clients with respect and reverence. Compassion is the heart of our Holistic approach program. Spiritual growth is the first approach that our clients need to cultivate; then self-growth and positive relationship with others should follow.
P7. Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His work for my life and gain the power to follow His will. (Steps Ten & Eleven)
P8. Yield myself to be used by God to bring this good news to others, both by my example and by my words.
